Geometry In Real Life

In math 371 (modern geometries) at St. Francis Xavier University we are encouraged to explore how geometry applies to our everyday lives. Although I am not currently studying architecture at school I hope to one day soon. As I was browsing different buildings and designs I came across the Endesa Pavilion. It is a self- efficient solar prototype composed of different modulars and components. This building clearly shows just from the triangular awnings that geometry is a large component of architecture. I think this pavilion is a great example of how the geometry we are learning in class applies to our futures and our lives. Learning currently about triangles and angles I can imagine how these theorems are applied to creating a building, home or structure.
